Dimple Pennington knew of her half siblings, but she didn't really know them. Five people who don't have anything in common except for faint memories of being driven through Brixton in their dad's gold jeep, and some pretty complex abandonment issues. Dimple has bigger things to think about. She's thirty, and her life isn't really going anywhere.

Cyril has 5 children with 4 women and cheerfully abandons any responsibility as a father, seeing his kids rarely and only when he wants something from them. But this is not really Cyril's story; it's the story of the 5 children, with Dimple at the centre of it. The plot is silly, but it's a useful vehicle for bringing the children (adults now) together and having to deal with one main crisis and various minor ones. There's not much subtlety in the developing relationships, but there is lots to make you smile and warm your heart. An easy and entertaining read. I enjoyed it.
