Libraries in West Sussex will be starting a phased reintroduction of services on the 6th July with a Select and Collect option from the front doors of all 36 library buildings.
Browsing in the library is not yet available; however restoring customer access to IT is a high priority whilst still enabling staff to have time to complete their jobs in safety.
There are two ways you can 'select and collect'.
While we have now reopened our library catalogue for reservations, and browsing in libraries is not yet available, we realise that you may not know exactly what you want to borrow or may want a more general selection of books.
So if you cannot get out of the house, or just miss having the time to browse, why not ask one of our expert staff to choose for you by completing our free Staff Select form.
You can once again use the library catalogue to reserve specific titles for free in the usual way online or by telephoning your nearest large library (details on the left of this page).
Collection of Items
Once the items are available your local library will contact you by phone or email to arrange a timed collection slot.
You can return any borrowed items at the library door, be it books, audiobooks, and even Project Loan boxes, if you’re a teacher.
Saturday 4 July, 10.00am - 12.00pm
If you can’t make any of the available slots, don’t worry, there will be no charges on any books that have not been returned during this time. It also doesn’t matter if your books were borrowed from a different library or if someone else drops them off on your behalf.
Outside of these times, if you have books that you are keen to return we have large letter boxes available at our libraries in Billingshurst, Bognor Regis, Crawley, East Grinstead, Goring, Haywards Heath, Horsham, Petworth, Southwick, Steyning and Witterings.
