West Sussex Libraries
We want everyone to be safe in our libraries. To keep yourself and others safe, please follow these guidelines:
You must not come into the library if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or are identified as a contact and told to self-isolate by Test and Trace.
For your safety and the safety of others, we expect you to wear a face covering whilst in the library, unless you have an exemption.
Regularly wash your hands or use hand sanitiser to reduce the risk of catching or spreading COVID-19. Hand sanitiser will be available upon entry to the library and throughout your visit.
To help reduce the spread of the virus, provide your contact details for Test and Trace or "check in" using the NHS COVID 19 App.
Limit close contact with others and give other library users and library staff ample personal space to reduce the risk of catching or spreading COVID-19.
Follow instructions from staff, observe all directional signage and, where possible, minimise your browsing time.
Ensure that younger children are accompanied by an attentive parent, carer or older sibling.
Respect and be considerate of those who may wish to take a more cautious approach as restrictions are lifted.
Understand that if you cannot follow these guidelines you will be asked to leave the library, to keep yourself and others safe.
In return, all library staff and volunteers will commit to:
Not come into work if we have been advised to self-isolate by the Test and Trace service or have COVID-19 symptoms, or anyone in our household has COVID-19 symptoms or tests positive.
Follow hand sanitising and hygiene guidance.
Wear a face covering at work (unless exempt).
Adhere to local health and safety arrangements in our individual workplaces and stick to our COVID-19 risk assessments to mitigate risk accordingly.
Follow regular cleaning procedures in line with guidance.
Provide a comprehensive online and remote library service.
Keep you informed about the reintroduction of our services.
