West Sussex Libraries
We want everyone to be safe in our libraries. To keep yourself and others safe you must follow these guidelines or you may be asked to leave the library.
You must not come into the library if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or are identified as a contact and told to self-isolate by Test and Trace.
For your safety and the safety of others, it is mandatory to wear a face covering whilst in the library, unless you have an exemption.
You must sanitise your hands on entry to the library using the hand sanitiser provided or bring your own to use upon entry and throughout your visit.
Adhere to social distancing practice and give other library users and library staff ample personal space.
Follow instructions from staff, observe all directional signage carefully and keep browsing time to a minimum.
Ensure that younger children are accompanied by an attentive parent, carer or older sibling.
Understand that we are still learning how to operate in this new world and have some patience with us as we re-introduce our services in a measured way.
Understand that if you cannot follow these guidelines you will be asked to leave the library, to keep yourself and others safe.
In return, all library staff and volunteers will commit to:
Not come into work if we, or any members of our household, have been advised to self-isolate by the test and trace service or have COVID-19 symptoms.
Follow hand sanitising and hygiene guidance.
Adhere to local health and safety arrangements in our individual workplaces.
Ensure we stick to our COVID-19 risk assessments and mitigate risk accordingly.
Follow stringent cleaning procedures in line with guidance.
Provide a comprehensive online and remote library service.
Keep you informed about the phased reintroduction of our services.
