Alzheimer's Society provide information, advice and support for anyone affected by dementia.
Carers Support West Sussex supports the family and friend carers in West Sussex.
West Sussex Mind supports people in West Sussex affected by mental health problems.

Evidence shows that music can help people with dementia to feel and live better. Create a playlist with BBC Music Memories to help people reconnect with their most powerful memories.


Reading Well Books on Prescription for Dementia recommends books you might find helpful if you are living with dementia, are caring for someone with dementia or would like to find out more about the condition. These are all available in West Sussex libraries. Click on any title to search the catalogue.


Our Home Library Direct service is for people who are unable to go to the library due to disability, illness,age, caring responsibilities or other reasons. Volunteers bring books and audiobooks of your choice to your home and return them to the library. You will also be able to reserve items online if you would like to and access our eLibrary of eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines. Ask for an application form at your local library or apply online.

Melody for the Mind are informal singing groups for people with dementia and other conditions and their carers. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in. They take place in Broadfield, Chichester, East Grinstead and Southwick libraries, See our Melody for the Mind page for further details

Dementia Friends helps us to learn more about dementia and the small ways we can help. All library staff attend a Dementia Friends information session. Some of our staff are Dementia Friends Champions who are able to run these sessions.
