“I got up at 5o'clock dressed, had my breakfast. I had an hours' journey and had to be in the wards at 7 when I was nursing. Then we were on for a fortnight, then we were turned around and I use to have to be on duty at 10o'clock until late. Then after a time they started having them at night then we had to live in, not travel, otherwise in the winter 5o'clock in the mornings. My parents wouldn't have that so we lived in.”
