How do I sign up?
You can sign up by taking your library card (or valid ID) to any Horsham District library – Horsham, Southwater, Storrington, Steyning, Henfield, Billingshurst, Pulborough. If you can’t make it in, you’re also welcome to sign up over the phone. Find out how to contact your local library here.
Is there an age limit to take part?
Not at all – the challenges are broad enough for people of all ages to enjoy.
What happens if I skip a month?
It’s completely okay to skip a month – just complete as many as you can! It’s the taking part that counts.
I want to sign up but I’m too late! Can I still take part?
You can join the challenge at any time and you don’t need to catch up the months that you missed. The challenge is about celebrating reading, so just join us whenever suits you best!
Can you recommend a book for one/some/all of the months?
We can! A list of recommended reads for each month is available on our blog (link to blog when available) and in libraries.
What happens when I complete the challenge?
At the end of the year, we will be inviting everyone who participated in the challenge to join us at “Books Light Up Your Life”, an event at Horsham Library. We’ll be discussing our favourite books and everyone who took part will be entered into a prize draw.
What happens if I lose my leaflet?
Leaflets are available from all Horsham District libraries. If you lose yours, feel free to pop in and pick up another one.
As part of Horsham District Year of Culture, your local libraries are inviting you to take part in our 2019 Reading Challenge. Join us in making twelve reading resolutions that we hope will inspire you, challenge you and connect you to fellow readers in the district.
The challenge is running in Horsham, Southwater, Storrington, Billingshurst, Steyning, Henfield and Pulborough Libraries. Join the challenge by popping in with your library card (or some ID) or by giving us a call. Find out how to contact your local library here.
You might want to join as an individual reader, looking to kick start a reading habit or get out of a reading rut. Or perhaps you would like to join us as part of a reading group. Maybe create a new group with your colleagues? However you choose to be involved, everyone is welcome to take up the challenge. Sign up in any Horsham district library.
Please join us at any time, and don’t panic if you miss a month. It’s the taking part that counts!
